Click on the difficulty level you wish to play to start your game. You can choose between easy, medium, hard and expert. Alternatively you can create a printable version of today's puzzle by clicking on the PRINT TODAY'S KAKURO button.

In the lower right corner of the welcome screen there are buttons to erase gameplay data, share the game on social media, and read developer info.
The game has a button for more games at the bottom center and a language selector which is in the lower left corner.
Kakuro puzzles resemble crosswords which use numbers instead of words.
You can enter multiple number candidates in each cell. Your number candidates appear in small maroon font. The final numbers, when entered, appear in a large size which fills up the cell.
If you are uncertain of your solutions you can click on the "?" button to error check your progress. When you use that button it will state how many errors you have made so far and highlight the cells with the wrong numbers in them. Please note that error checking only checks final numbers rather than number candidates.
Each day this game offers another level to play through. You can play through multiple puzzles from the same day by playing different difficutly levels.
Your web browser automatically stores the amount of time and number of moves it took you to complete each puzzle.
You can click on date to choose another date and play another puzzle.
The lower left side of the game offers buttons to pause the game, undo moves, error check your progress, control game music & sounds, or switch between full screen or embedded play modes.
